The year is 1999. Our electronics are huge, clunky, and sound like R2-D2 with a bad cough. If you were looking to surf the World Wide Web, your computer was bound to the wall by five feet of cable and a screechy modem. But, then came along a miracle technology, one that would free us from the wires (well depending on how long your laptop battery lasted). That technology was WiFi.
To demonstrate then what we all take for granted today, Steve Jobs held up a WiFi compatible iBook in one hand, and took a hula hoop in the other, to show an audience at an Apple event how wonderful it really was.
