Officials say that Sandy Hook Elementary School in Monroe, Conn. was evacuated this morning.

According to the Newtown Bee, a spokesperson with the school district said the school received a "low to no level threat" this morning. NBC adds that a bomb threat was phoned in just before 10 p.m., but nothing was found during a subsequent search.

Parents were notified, and buses began leaving the school at noon. Though school officials said that children will be dropped off at their homes, certain parents elected to pick their children up from the school.

The Bee adds that Superintendant Dr. Joseph Erardi said all details will be released when the time is right.
