According to British model Katie Price, previously known as Jordan, Paralympian Oscar Pistorius was direct messaging her on Twitter during the course of the South African's murder trial.

The "Blade Runner" was found guilty of culpable homicide in October 2014 and received a five-year prison sentence, but this latest revelation would have caused a stir in the Pretoria courtroom if it had emerged during the trial.

Katie Price revealed she had been followed by the South African back in April after the glamour model had given her opinion of the case in her Now column, saying: "we are all equal when it comes to judicial undertakings" and she "certainly [wasn't] going to judge Oscar on other people's theories portrayed via the media".

Pistorius reportedly followed Katie Price in April.

It was Price's brother, Dan, who had realised the 36-year-old had received direct messages from the runner and made her aware of them by saying: “oh my god, Kate – have a look at who’s direct messaged you on Twitter" to which the model said "it’s got to be fake" before realising it was from Pistorius' verified account.

Speaking to 3am, Price said: “He was direct messaging me during the case. It’s weird, isn’t it? He was saying, ‘Thanks for the support,’ and stuff. Just all general chit-chat. He was the first one to message me.

“Because I mentioned him in my column, he was referencing that. I wasn’t exactly supporting him, but everyone who goes through a trial will be the only one who knows what really happened. You’re innocent until you’re proven guilty.”

If given the chance to meet the Paralympian, Price said: “I would love to do something like Louis Theroux Meets... that is my dream".
