The latest YouGov poll released this morning shows the Liberal Democrats have slipped to fifth place, behind the Green Party for the first time. Out of those surveyed 7% said they'd vote Green with only 6% opting for the Lib Dems.
The Deputy Prime Minister was confronted with the poll on his LBC phone-in show by co-presenter Nick Ferrari who said the Lib Dems were the same position in the polls that Arsenal are in the Premier League. He asked "Was this always the plan? To follow Arsene Wenger and Arsenal?" Clegg replied "I will continue to be the Arsene Wenger of British politics because Arsenal will go up in the Premier League and we will go [up]."
So that's a resounding fourth place prediction. Is it time to bring back nickclegglookingsad yet?
