Have you ever looked at a fictional movie product and decided that you had to have it, only to face the crushing reality that it is a work of fiction? Of course you have.
But now, there are entire companies devoted to taking these fake products and making them a reality. Fight Club soap, Anchorman’s Sex Panther cologne, and Idiocracy’s Brawndo are all very much real products that you can now buy. And it’s not just limited to products, either; even fictional movies have been created because of fan response.
Machete became a reality thanks to a fake trailer in Grindhouse, and the upcoming Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice was merely a figment of director Francis Lawrence’s imagination in 2007’s I Am Legend:
Hopefully, this can only mean that Simple Jack is next.
