Donald Glover just landed a role in a big-time Hollywood sci-fi movie with a big-time director and big-time costars and big-time budget.
Damn, it is about time.
Glover has signed on to play a young NASA scientist in the upcoming Ridley Scott-directed and Matt Damon-starring film The Martian, The Wrap is reporting. The movie, about a guy who gets stranded on Mars and has to survive until he's rescued, also stars Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Pena and Jeff Daniels.
It's the second, high-profile role Glover has officially landed in the past month, so it looks like he might be shifting gears back toward his acting career after finding success in the music business as rapper Childish Gambino. Glover will also be in the Magic Mike sequel coming out next year.
