When you think of AMC you probably think of shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and The Walking Dead. The network's reality shows have been viewed as secondary, and as of now they won't be viewed at all. AMC has announced it's largely getting rid of its reality shows to focus on scripted television.

The only survivors will be Talking Dead and Comic Book Men. Game of Arms, Small Town Security, Freak Show, and other shows that were in development—including one with Talking Dead's Chris Hartwick—are done for. So instead of focusing on the mindlessness that is most reality television, AMC will have more time to figure out how to fill the holes left by Breaking Bad and Mad Men when it ends next year.

Ideally, all networks would purge reality TV. But this is a nice start.
