If anyone in your life has yet to watch The Wire, the time has come for you to do your duty.

Beginning on Thursday with the very first episode, HBO Signature will re-air one episode of the critically-acclaimed show every single weeknight at 8 p.m. This is not a typical broadcast, however; each episode has been fully remastered and will be presented for the first time ever in HD.

Even if you have seen the show, how could you resist the chance to see Avon and Stringer back together, Omar on the prowl, McNulty get uncomfortably wasted, or even poor, poor Bubbles slowly redeem himself?

UPDATE: According to HitFix's Alan Sepinwall, we may need to pump the brakes on a Thursday Wire viewing:

When HBO finally settles on a date, we'll be sure to provide an update.
