Steve Jobs Didn't Allow His Kids to Have iPads

Jobs said he limited how much technology his kids used at home.

It turns out that even if your dad is super cool Apple founder Steve Jobs, you still won't get an iPad. Parents everywhere now have a great reply to the age old adage "but, muum, everyone else has one" as even Steve Jobs didn't let his kids have iPads.

US journalist Nick Bilton has said that after Jobs called him to talk about a review Bilton had written of the iPad, Bilton asked him "So, your kids must love the iPad?" to which Jobs replied "They haven’t used it. We limit how much technology our kids use at home."

Jobs' biographer Walter Isaacson later backed up the story saying "every evening Steve made a point of having dinner at the big long table in their kitchen, discussing books and history and a variety of things."

So parents, when your kids start asking about the iPhone 6—an unlocked 16gb model is going to set you back $649—here's your get-out-of-jail-free card.
