Officials in Australia say authorities foiled an ISIS plot to publicly behead someone at random in Sydney today.

According to CNN, upwards of 800 police officers raided several properties in the area, resulting in 15 arrests. Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot told the Associated Press that the planned beheading was a "demonstration killing."

"That's the intelligence we received," he explained, adding that the information came from "an Australian who is apparently quite senior in ISIL to networks of support back in Australia to conduct demonstration killings here in this country."

At the moment, an estimated 60 Australians are fighting with ISIS, and police in Australia suspect that many more currently reside in the country, funneling new recruits into the group. Furthermore, CNN added that a warrant has been issued for Mohammad Ali Baryalei, the highest-ranking ISIS member in Australia.
