Video has emerged of teenagers in Memphis, Tenn. attacking three people in a parking lot over the weekend.
WREG reports that the attack took place around 9:15 p.m. Saturday night in a Kroger parking lot. The group converged on a 25-year-old man as he was walking to his vehicle, and two employees—ages 17 and 18—were beaten as they attempted to assist him. Both teenagers reportedly lost consciousness after being hit in the head with pumpkins which weighed over 20 pounds.
A security guard broke things up, and all three victims were treated for their injuries at the scene. WREG adds that the teens were eventually released to their parents after being hospitalized.
Tony Armstrong, the city's police director, called the events "extremely troubling" in the wake of a youth forum that had just been held a week prior.
