A 51-year-old Bronx man took himself out in a very public suicide this morning. Police say the man parked his car in the street at about 9:35 a.m., got out to tie a chain around his neck and to a pole, and then got back in to hit the gas until he decapitated himself.
What a brutal way to go. And we can't imagine what it would have been like to witness it. Somehow this seems worse than seeing someone jump in front of a train, which is all too common in NYC.
