Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer, two guys who've brought you lots of movies that go boom (and have grossed something like a combined $18 billion at the box office) are teaming up to produce a TV series based on the hit documentary Cocaine Cowboys, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Bay and Bruckheimer are reportedly producing a pilot for TNT that's currently called the Untitled Cocaine Project.

The show is going to be “A serialized character drama that brings the audience into the captivating, wild and unpredictable world of the Florida drug trade in the 1970s.”

TNT is not the first place that comes to mind when you think "great drama series" (and EW reports that the project was originally intended for HBO), but considering the amount of classic entertainment cocaine has inspired (and I mean that in more ways than one), this is definitely an intriguing project.
