As a big fan of the Bourne films, I refused to watch the 2012 spinoff without Matt Damon. It just didn't feel right, like seeing your ex with a new dude. But now the series looks like it'll return to its first leading man, with Damon reportedly in talks to come back as Jason Bourne in a new film written and directed by Paul Greengrass. Both men had previously refused to continue on with the series.
Greengrass has never written a Bourne film, but he served as director for Ultimatum and Supremacy. His most recent writing credit came in 2006 for United 93.
We're not sure how this affects the planned 2016 Bourne film with Jeremy Renner returning as Aaron Cross, but that's secondary to us now. Whether it still happens or not, what matters most are the details of Damon's return.
