Larry David himself can tell the joke, but it’s positively essential that you watch this clip at least twice. Once for David’s delivery, and a second to watch only Jimmy Fallon and how he reacts.
Fallon’s face completely betrays the calm demeanor he is trying to project; he wears a look that screams “this is funny, I cannot believe he just said that, I need to backpedal out of this situation is quickly as possible.” Oblivious as always, David doesn’t seem to care even a little bit.
This could have been a scene out of Curb Your Enthusiasm, and if you want to see new Curb any time soon you’ll probably just have to pretend that that’s exactly what it was.
