A Florida man was arrested yesterday for allegedly attacking his wife during an argument about leftover fried chicken.

The Smoking Gun reports that 45-year-old Desmond Brownlee got into a dispute with his wife, 40-year-old Shay Alamo, at their Deltona, Fla. home because there wasn't enough remaining fried chicken. According to the Smoking Gun, Alamo says Brownlee pushed her onto their bed and began striking her in the face and choking her until she struggled to breathe.

Alamo managed to escape and call 911, but when police arrived, she didn't want to press charges against her husband. During questioning, Brownlee admitted to arguing with his wife about leftover fried chicken, but claimed that he took a non-aggressive stance while she slapped him in the face. However, the laceration on Alamo's lip and marks on her neck suggested otherwise.

Brownlee was eventually charged with domestic battery by strangulation.
