Eminem's publishers, Eight Mile Style LLC and Martin Affiliated LLC, are seeking damages for copyright infringement from New Zealand's ruling National Party after the party allegedly used Shady's song 'Lose Yourself' in a campaign ad for the upcoming election.

Em's publishers said: "It is both disappointing and sadly ironic that the political party responsible for championing the rights of music publishers in New Zealand by the introduction of the 3 strikes copyright reforms should itself have so little regard for copyright".

However, the National Party have said they "will be defending this action vigorously" and that the instrumental used was actually created by an Australian production outfit. Despite having distinct similarities to Eminem's track.

Under the National Party leader John Key, the New Zealand government raided Kim Dotcom's house in the country over allegations relating to copyright infringement. Which now seems kind of ironic...

Did they use Eminem's track? You decide...
