California mayor, Daniel Crespo, of Bell Gardens, CA, was shot while at home on Tuesday.
Crespo’s condition is unknown as the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department isn’t revealing information about the shooting.
Bell Gardens is just 10 minutes away from L.A.
Update: According to Bell Gardens police, the shooting occurred at 3:35 p.m. PST in the 6300 block of E. Gage Avenue.
Sky9’s Stu Mundel reported seeing the large crime scene in front of a condo complex.
Police confirmed a “male adult” was transported to a local hospital. Mundel also added that Mayor Crespo’s gunshot wound wasn’t life threatening.
Investigations are still ongoing.
Update 2: Mayor Crespo has been confirmed dead, and his wife is in custody for the shooting. A spokesperson for the LA County Sheriff's Department said the couple were in a dispute that "became physical" and involved their son, 19. "Early information we have is that a struggle ensued between Daniel Sr. and Daniel Jr. Ultimately, the wife, Levette, produced a firearm and shot her husband multiple times."
