It was exactly a year after Dave Chappelle, possibly the greatest comedian of his generation, got heckled off the stage in Hartford, Conn.
After 364 days to think about what happened, he had something to say to the people there: "in case the media’s watching: it was your fault..."
Chappelle performed a surprise set in Hartford on Saturday as part of the Oddball Comedy Festival, and this time, he killed it.
Although he jokingly blamed the crowd for his failure last time, he also apologizes to them, saying he was "real immature about what happened."
"Right after I left, I’m sorry I did this, I made t-shirts that said 'Fuck Hartford. I’m sorry I did that. And I hate to tell you that they were very good sellers. I got a lot of Internet orders, from Hartford, that was a surprise.”
