We haven't even made it to Treehouse of Horror III yet (there's 24 of them), but the early ratings are already in, and, scientifically speaking, an assload of people are watching The Simpsons every episode ever marathon on FXX.

The first day of the marathon was the network's most-watched day ever, bringing in more than triple the network's usual viewers during primetime, Variety reports.

From 8 to 11 p.m. Thursday, 1.01 million people were watching the the six, half-hour episodes, which is huge for syndicated reruns of any show, and was strong enough to beat out parent network FX and competing cable networks TNT and USA.

The most watched episode was Itchy & Scratchy & Marge, which is a good one, but tonight and Saturday are when the real Season 4 through Season 6 golden-era shit airs. Uproxx put together a handy guide of what time every episode comes on, if you've got a favorite you're looking out for.

Of course, not everybody was watching. In an interview with Time, Hank Azaria, who voices Moe, Apu, Chief Wiggum and others said "Well, I’ve lived the marathon. Really. I’ve been doing this for over half my life now."
