You can stop worrying about what's going to happen to Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam when the series ends after Season 7, because based on this news, dude is about to be set for life.
Hunnam, who plays Jax on the series, has been revealed as director Guy Ritchie's top choice to play King Arthur in a new, six-film franchise that's being produced at Warner Bros., Deadline reports.
Hunnam is one of those actors who you assume is American until you see him interviewed and realize he's got a British accent, which kind of makes it way easier to picture him as the legendary king of Camelot who pulls swords from stones and kicks it with Merlin and all that.
There's definitely no shortage of films based on the King Arthur legend, but Warner Bros. has apparently been working to make a new franchise happen for years now and is heavily invested in doing it right. Add that to the fact that Ritchie has done great things with the Robert Downey Jr.-starring Sherlock Holmes franchise (and a long list of other films), and this could be something to really get excited about.
With roles like this coming his way, Hunnam can't possibly be regretting that decision to drop out of playing Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey movie.
Will he be better than Sean Connery in First Knight? Who knows, but he can definitely do the voice.
