We all knew an emotional tribute for Robin Williams was coming, but that didn't make it any easier to prepare for. Billy Crystal had the honor of memorializing his good friend and absolutely nailed it from his first line: "He made us laugh. Hard."
Crystal went on to say Williams' "brilliance was astounding. The relentless energy was kind of thrilling. I used to think if I could put a saddle on him and stay on for eight seconds, I was going to do ok." He also shared a heartwarming story of going to a baseball game with Williams, who was clueless about the sport but still managed to deliver a zinger.
And eventually, of course, came the montage. A reminder of how quick and how damn well Williams could turn it on. As Crystal said, "It's hard to talk about him in the past because he was so present in all of our lives. For almost 40 years he was the brightest star in the comedy galaxy."
