A Scottish woman who ventured to the doctor after suffering from health issues including weight loss and general pain in her nether regions left doctors stunned when they found what was inside of her vagina: a sex toy that had been there for a decade.

The five-inch device was removed by surgeons at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, who said its presence had done "life-threatening" damage. The 38-year-old reportedly suffered from vesicovaginal fistula and obstructive uropathy, a condition that causes urine blockage in the kidneys.

According to the Journal of Sexual Medicine, the woman said the toy's extended presence was the result of a drunken episode with her partner from 10 years ago, one where she was apparently so intoxicated that she couldn't remember if she removed it or not. Drink and fornicate responsibly, folks.
