"Star Wars: Episode VII" Announces Two New Cast Members

Star Wars Episode VII has added two new cast members: Crystal Clarke and Pip Anderson. Also production will go on hiatus for Harrison Ford to recover.

Two virtually unknown new actors have joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII, according to a production update released by Disney on StarWars.com.

Crystal Clarke, an American actress who is set to make her big screen debut in 2015's The Moon and the Sun starring Pierce Brosnan,  and British actor Pip Anderson, who showed off some sick parkour skills in a Spider Man / Sony commercial recently, were selected from more than 67,000 hopefuls who submitted videos and attended open casting calls last year.

Here's Anderson's commercial:

“The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting Episode VII we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film,” said producer and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Meanwhile, shooting continues at Pinewood Studios in London after wrapping on location in Abu Dhabi in May.

In August, the team will take a two-week hiatus while changes to the production schedule are made as Harrison Ford recovers from a leg injury.

The announcement said that Ford "is doing well and is looking forward to returning to the set soon."

The film remains on track for release on Dec. 18, 2015, the post said.
