Woman Arrested for Leaving Child on NYC Subway Platform (Updated)

A woman is being questioned by police after an infant was abandoned on a New York City subway platform yesterday afternoon.

The New York Times reports that a woman exited a 1 train headed north at Columbus Circle with a stroller carrying a 7-month-old girl, then got back onto the train without the stroller. A 33-year-old woman discovered the child, then called authorities after about 20 minutes. 

The NYPD released pictures of the child and video of the woman in hope that the public would help identify them. A 20-year-old woman was reportedly taken into custody around 12:30 a.m. this morning for questioning, but the Times says no charges have been filed as of yet.

UPDATEAccording to the New York Daily NewsFrankea Dabbs, 20, has been charged with abandoning a child and acting in a manner injurious to a child under the age of 17.
