Early this morning, transit police in New York City opened fire on a vehicle that neglected to stop at the Verrazano Bridge's toll plaza. 

ABC New York reports that the Hummer refused to stop at the Staten Island toll plaza around 1:15 a.m. According to ABC New York, the NYPD said the vehicle was hijacked at gunpoint. A woman who was a passenger attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended. NBC New York says the driver escaped.

The car was recovered near the scene, and authorities say no one was injured by the gunfire.
