New Orleans Police Arrest Man in Connection with Last Weekend's Shooting

He was caught in Mississippi and is being sent back to Louisiana.

Authorities have apprehended the man accused of opening fire into a crowd of people in New Orleans last weekend.

According to the Associated Press, Trung T. Le, 20, was arrested yesterday afternoon in Mississippi. Le is accused of firing the first shot during a Bourbon Street gunfight that left one person, 21-year-old Brittany Thomas, dead, and nine others injured last Sunday. Local authorities are still working to identify the other suspect involved in the incident. 

Le was caught New Orleans police officers working in conjunction with U.S. marshals, and will be extradited back to New Orleans to face charges of first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder.
