Following the suggestion of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, the Democratic National Committee will consider Brooklyn—the Barclays Center, specifically—as a potential destination for the 2016 Democractic National Convention.

The New York Daily News reports that the DNC will dispatch a small group from its Technical Advisory Committee to survey the location during a trip next month. The faction will also examine security, transportation, and housing in the area.

Currently rivaling Brooklyn for the site of the convention are Phoenix, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, Birminigham, Ala., and Philadelphia
