Skate spots are ephemeral things: as fast as they get discovered, they get destroyed. But even a short-lived spot can be remembered long after the bulldozers leave. With those special locations in mind, Complex's Rides channel recently put together a list of iconic spots that met less-than-optimal fates. And in a similar spirit, City Guide has decided to take a look at the doomed ledges, rails, and parks of New York City. Some of these spots were truly legendary, while others were just fun while they lasted. From skate shop mini ramps to career-making hubbas, these recently-destroyed locales will be truly missed. But remember, these are only 10 of hundreds of defunct spots; pour one out for your own favorite in the comments.
