In the most recent 30 second TV spot for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, we get some new imagery of just how much the human race totally botched the whole ape evolution thing.
While some of the footage is the same as earlier trailers, we do get one look at just how badass these apes are now: bear hunting! It’s a quick shot, but it looks like one of the apes distracts a huge bear while another one spears it in the back.
Interestingly, Andy Serkis (who plays Caesar, the leader of the apes) told a group of journalists last week that he models his character in part after Nelson Mandela. Did Madiba ever hunt a bear with nothing but a wooden spear? It seems unlikely.
In any case, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will arrive in theaters on July 11, and you can check out the new trailer above.
