Fans of The Wire will fondly recall the days when Idris Elba was an actor who inhabited menacing, angry characters who were capable of extreme violence. They probably wondered where that guy went.
Well, after seeing the trailer for No Good Deed, it’s official: "Bad Idris Elba" is back.
He plays a convict who escapes prison and decides (for unknown reasons) to hold Taraji P. Henson and her daughter hostage in their home. What follows is a round of psychological torture, mixed with Henson attempting to throw pretty much every substance known to man in Elba’s eyes. Plus, there’s the obligatory Elba shirtless shower scene, except it’s just creepy.
No Good Deed hits theaters September 12, and the trailer is above.
