The first official gameplay trailer for Madden 15 is here, and it features the Carolina Panthers' star linebacker Luke Kuechly.

Emphasizing defense, the video shows Kuechly as half-man and half-machine while transforming him into his virtual persona. He then takes to the field to rip through the offense of the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks.

On the EA Sports website, the new features for Madden 15 are listed as well. Looking them over, it's safe to say that the EA team paid attention to Seattle's dominating defense from the 2013-14 season. Their listed additions start by discussing the new defensive features that will be added to the game, including "an all-new arsenal of pass rush moves," as well as the ability to "contain the open field with intuitive tackling mechanics, and play as a team with redesigned zone and man coverage logic all while being immersed in the play from the other side of the line, with defensive player lock cameras."

These sound impressive, but the other listed improvements don't quite match up in terms of importance. In trying to deliver a unique experience from previous Madden titles, it looks like EA Sports is going all-in on defense this year.

After the screenshots we saw yesterday, expectations were high for Madden's upcoming title. Has EA delivered? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
