The good news? Americans are exercising more than they used to. The bad news? They're eating a lot more, too. A recent piece on Voxexplores the relationship between obesity, exercise, and social demographics collected by researcher Roland Sturm. And because this is Vox we're talking about, they present the data in conveniently-organized infographics:

Americans are excercising more.

But educated and uneducated people alike are getting fatter.

As are all ethnic groups.

Americans are eating (slightly) more fruits and vegetables.

But that's only because we're eating more of everything.

The key takeaway here: Things are not looking good for America's obesity epidemic, even if we are remembering to go to the gym more often.
