The man accused of robbing a Tennessee Waffle House with a pitchfork earlier this month has now been arrested for murder, officials say.

The New York Daily News reports that 49-year-old Jeffrey Willard Wooten fatally shot Randy Lands, 44, after breaking into his home last Friday. Lands' sister and mother soon arrived at the East Knox County home to find Wooten, who threatened them before fleeing in Lands' sister's vehicle.

After leading police on a high-speed chase for nearly three hours, he crashed into a West Knox County home. The career criminal, who has previous arrests for auto theft and armed robbery, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery.
