Gothamist reports that about 50 children played recorders for a total of 40 minutes on the N train earlier this week. While that may seem like a relatively harmless, possibly even adorable performance art project, take the time to consider what 50 off-key amateur flautists would do to your morning commute.
S. Chum-Wu, who witnessed the incident, told Gothamist: "It was cute for like five minutes, then the best/worst form of torture ever." If you can listen to more than 30 seconds of the above video without going insane, you are a stronger person than I am.
