You didn’t think Warner Bros. would let the Harry Potter cash cow go out to pasture, did you? Of course not, so it shouldn’t have come as a surprise that the studio recently announced that it was planning a movie trilogy based around J.K. Rowling’s spinoff novel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Now, according to Collider, the studio has made a commitment to a November 18, 2016 release date for the first movie in the planned trilogy.

While the book takes place in the Potter universe, it doesn’t feature any of the iconic characters from the series. Instead, the book is actually set up as a fictional textbook from Potter’s world, written by the enigmatic Newt Scamander. Rowling is writing the screenplay for the film, but no director has been hired yet.
