If word coming out of the Cannes Film Festival about Olivier Assayas' new film Clouds of Sils Maria is to be believed, Kristen Stewart is unfuckwitable. The 24-year-old actress is earning rave reviews for her starring role in the intriguing new drama.
The synopsis is as follows:
She departs with her assistant (Stewart) to rehearse in Sils Maria; a remote region of the Alps. A young Hollywood starlet with a penchant for scandal (Chloë Grace Moretz) is to take on the role of Sigrid, and Maria finds herself on the other side of the mirror, face to face with an ambiguously charming woman who is, in essence, an unsettling reflection of herself.
In which I say extremely nice things about Kirsten Stewart's career-changing performance in CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA http://t.co/LYWYNhiqFl
SILS MARIA reactions out of Cannes seem to justify the "Kristen Stewart is much better than you give credit for" drum I've beaten for years.

Suffice it to say, it looks like the festival's Best Actress award is not out of her grasp.
There is no word yet on a set U.S. release date, however IFC Films has plans to drop it in theaters later this year.
