Authorities say a Texas man violently attacked his teenage daughter after learning that she wanted to dance with one of her black friends at her approaching quinceañera

According to Click2Houston, 37-year-old Aaron Aranza of Houston, Texas ended a practice run of the celebration at her grandmother's house on Apr. 11 after finding out that his 14-year-old daughter planned to dance with her friend, a 15-year-old black boy. He allegedly used a racial epithet to refer to the young man and pushed him, exclaiming "I don't care that you're a kid!"

Witnesses claim that Aranza then attacked his daughter, striking her with a belt while dragging her outside of the home.

Though he fled the scene before police arrived, he was eventually arrested and charged with injury to a child.
