"Transcendence" is a sci-fi thriller that revolves around scientists who build the first "self-aware supercomputer." Johnny Depp stars as Dr. Will Caster, the lead scientist, who becomes the target of anti-technology extremists and "unexpectedly becomes a participant in his own transcendence."
Wally Pfister, known for his work as a cinematographer for films such as The Dark Knight and Inception, will make his directorial debut with "Transcendence."
