Rock Banddeveloper Harmonix teased the imminent return of the franchise to this generation of consoles – Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and maybe the Wii U – in a talk this morning at PAX East in Boston.

According to Gamespot, CEO Alex Rigopulos started off the talk by stating that he would not announce Rock Band 4 or Dance Central 4 however he did stress that both franchises are “near and dear” to the developer and that it would reemerge into the new console markets “at some point.”

Wow, now that's a lot of maybes. A developer typically doesn't speak at an event to annouce nothing so you can count on this being a tease with a big ol' grain of salt. Harmonix is currently working on the music game Fantasia: Music Evolved for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One as well as the free-to-play first-person shooter, Chroma.
