This morning, Howard University announced that Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs will deliver the address at the school's 146th Commencement ceremony next month.

In a press release, interim President Wayne A.I. Frederick revealed that Combs, a former Howard student, will also receive an honorary doctorate in humanities at the ceremony. "We are honored to have Mr. Combs serve as our speaker," Frederick said. "He sat in classrooms where our students sit, walked 'The Yard,' and like many students, his entrepreneurial spirit was sparked at Howard. We know he will inspire our class to work hard and to always strive for excellence."

In addition to Combs, Wolf Blitzer, Clive Callender, Indra K. Nooyi and Benny Goldson will also receive honorary degrees. However, as Frederick hinted, the magnitude of Combs' announcement as commence speaker is huge considering that he was once part of the student body. This milestone is part of his life coming full circle.

Howard University's 146th Commencement ceremony will be held on the morning of May 10.
