Police in New York City arrested a man this week accused of striking three women in the head with a hammer and robbing their Queens apartment.

According to Gothamist, Lawrence Parsons, 29, snuck into their Astoria apartment around 2:40 a.m. Sunday morning. After attacking each of the women, he allegedly stole a laptop, iPad and cell phone then escaped.

Someone contacted 911 and the women were rushed to different hospitals in the area. All three suffered cracked skulls, and while the two youngest victims, Dawn Picota and Miriam Ozzimo, were listed as being in stable condition, their 53-year-old mother Ilene Picota was in a critical state.

The New York Post reports that Dawn Picota knew Parsons and has lost vision in her left eye after suffering a broken left orbital bone during the attack.

Authorities expect Parson to be charged with a series of offenses including first-degree attempted murder and assault.
