Dominique Ansel Bakery Reopens to Long Line

After being closed following reports of a rodent issue, Dominique Ansel Bakery reopened this morning. Don't call it a comeback.

After closing amidst reports of a rodent problem and the Department of Health's alleged discovery of "several hundred mouse droppings," Dominique Ansel Bakery is back in business today after passing their re-opening inspection.

Aiming to set the record straight, the bakery issued a statement claiming that their success over the past year has made them a target for "malicious attacks":

Dear friends, What you see in the photo is us—the less than 20 members of the Dominique Ansel Bakery team in our Soho bakery. This is all of us. In the past year, we have woken up daily knowing that our success has made us vulnerable to more malicious attacks than any small, one-shop business should ever have to suffer.

For today only, the bakery will offer a special Rocky Cronut (hence the Rocky Balboa reference) as an ode to its underdog fighter status and ability to bounce back. The comeback is more "Hold Me Back" than "Eye of the Tiger," but from the looks of that line, people are still rocking with Dominique Ansel, "malicious attacks" and all.
