Stephen Colbert Will Retire His Satirical Right-Wing Character For "Late Show"

The character Stephen Colbert is known for will be retired when he hosts "The Late Show" on CBS.

One of the best things about The Colbert Report is how much Stephen Colbert engulfs himself in an unsavory caricature of right-wing talking heads and news pundits. He rarely, rarely breaks character, not even in front of former President George Bush at the White House Correspondents Dinner

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that, Stephen Colbert, who was announced as David Letterman's successor at The Late Show on CBS earlier today, will retire his satirical character for the gig.

So, soon we will get to see Colbert as himself five nights a week. Rest In Peace in advance to the Colbert that we used to know.
