"Batman: The Animated Series" Creator Bruce Timm is Coming Back with Another Dark Knight Cartoon

Between Christopher Nolan’s transcendent Dark Knight trilogy, writer Scott Snyder’s terrific run on Batman and Detective Comics, and the Arkham video game series, the last few years have been an embarrassment of riches for Batman fans. And it doesn’t look like the good fortune is going to slow down any time soon. According to Comics Alliance, Bruce Timm, the man behind Batman: The Animated Series, is coming back to Warner Bros. for a new Batman cartoon short, titled Batman Strange Days.

The short features Batman squaring off against the first supervillain he ever fought: Doctor Hugo Strange. From the looks of it, the short is an adaptation of the Batman’s early battles with Strange from the comics.

The short will air on April 9 at 6:30 p.m. during Cartoon Network’s DC Nation block. Check out some images from the short below:
