A boy accused of stabbing his teacher to death in the UK was reportedly “hooked on violent video games” according to the Mirror. The Mirror claims that friends of the accused claim that he was heavily into games such as Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto series and would spend hours playing them and generally identified as a hardcore gamer.

The boy is accused of stabbing his teacher from behind, possibly because he was angry about a detention he was given. The teacher, Ann Maguire, later died.
