Police in the U.K. shut down a road to search for a man's severed penis yesterday, officials say.
The trouble began Thursday morning when a man with severe injuries to his groin was found by the A66 highway in Middleborough. Though details remain murky on how and why, exactly, the man's penis was severed, a 22-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of assault, but ultimately released after posting bail.
The Guardian reports that the road was later reopened, but there's been no official word on whether the man's penis has been recovered. Authorities say the main remains hospitalized in an induced coma.
