A Florida Keys man accused of stealing his girlfriend's wallet decided to eat the evidence on the way to jail, allegedly consuming the money in the back of a police car.

According to NBC Miami, Leosvel Cordova Parrado of Marathon, Fla. left a party rather intoxicated and furious with his girlfriend and son. Upon returning home, he reportedly took his girlfriend's wallet, which contained $750. Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office later arrested him, finding a large sum of money and a valium pill that he didn't have a prescription for in his possession.

However, during the ride to jail, a deputy said he heard an odd sound and spotted Parrado gnawing on cash. More money was found hidden in his underwear, but just $277 of the stolen money was recovered. Parrado was ultimately charged with battery, robbery, resisting arrest, grand theft, tampering with evidence and possession of a controlled substance.
