A California man accused of biting off his infant son's nose and leaving the boy with a brain hemorrhage and skull fracture has been arrested, officials say.
According to authorities, Joshua Cooper, 18, of Fairfield, Calif. bit his son's nose off yesterday in a fit of frustration because he could not stop the boy from crying. Fairfield Police Chief Sgt. Troy Oviatt called the scene "fairly gruesome."
Cooper was charged with aggravated mayhem and child cruelty, but could face additional charges. The child was reportedly in stable condition at an Oakland hospital as of last night, but he's lost a portion of his nose. An investigation has been launched to determine how, exactly, he suffered the other injuries.
