The lineage of the stoner buddy comedy (Pineapple Express, for instance) always traces back to Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. The comedy duo has starred in many hijinks-filled films, most notably their 1978 movie, Up in Smoke. In recent years there's been talks of an Up in Smoke 2, but no real action taken—until now. Chong recently spoke with CelebStoner and revealed that Jay Chandrasekhar—director of Super Troopers, Beerfest, and episodes of Community andis working on a screenplay for the duo.

Whether or not the movie will be a direct sequel to Up in Smoke is unknown, but Chong said that preliminary meetings have taken place and shared a few plot details.

"It will be about us going to a festival called the Burning Joint. All sorts of shenanigans happen. It's going to be a lot of fun," Chong said.

Stay tuned, man, for some more details on this one...man.
